Tarot 17 - The Star

Upright - The Star is a card of hope and healing. Coming after the Tower, it promises that there is a future, and offers a light to guide the person on their way to that future. It is a drink of cool water (knowledge) in the wasteland, a promise of tomorrow.

Upside-down - Reversed, the waters of knowledge and healing that the Star pours out fall into the sky, and both pond and urns and earth are left dry. The Star can't shed its light on the Earth, this is a time of darkness. Everything has run dry, no one is offering a future or hope for a future.

Creature – The Qilin (known as Kirin in Japan) is a mythical hooved Chinese creature known throughout various East Asian cultures. It is sometimes misleading called the "Chinese unicorn" due to confusion with the unicorn by Westerners. Although it looks fearsome, the Qilin only punishes the wicked. It takes great care when it walks never to tread on any living thing, and it is said to appear only in areas ruled by a wise and benevolent leader.
